| Chiang Mai Kitchen was set up in 1993 with the aim of providing delicious, authentic Thai food in a beautiful and unique historical setting. Tucked down a little alleyway, known as Kemp Hall passage, the 3 storey timber framed building dates from the 1630s and possibly earlier. Built originally as a private dwelling for Alderman Boswell it was also the Oxford police station for about 100 years before becoming a popular restaurant in the early 1900s. Much of the original oak panelling still remains along with a beautiful carved oak staircase |
